Section 03

Definition of CSAE

Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE) includes any activity that exploits or endangers children sexually. This encompasses, but is not limited to:

  • Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM): Any visual depiction (photographs, videos, drawings, digitally generated or AI-manipulated images) of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, or any content that depicts or promotes the sexual abuse of children.
  • Grooming: Actions deliberately undertaken with the aim of befriending and establishing an emotional connection with a child, to lower the child's inhibitions in preparation for sexual abuse or exploitation.
  • Solicitation: Attempting to engage minors in sexual conversations or activities, or requesting explicit content from them.
  • Sextortion: Coercing or blackmailing a minor using real or alleged intimate images or information.
  • Sexualization of Minors: Portraying children in a manner intended to be sexually suggestive or provocative, potentially leading to their exploitation.
  • Trafficking: Facilitating or promoting the sexual exploitation or trafficking of children.

A minor is defined as an individual under the age of 18.

Section 04

Users are strictly prohibited from creating, uploading, sharing, promoting, requesting, or engaging in any activity related to CSAE on the Sailors Connect platform. This includes:

  • Posting, sending, or linking to any CSAM.
  • Engaging in grooming behaviors or attempting to solicit minors.
  • Sharing content that sexually objectifies or endangers children.
  • Using the platform to facilitate any form of CSAE.
Section 05

All users of Sailors Connect are responsible for:

  • Adhering strictly to this Child Safety Policy and our overall Terms of Service.
  • Immediately reporting any content or user behavior they suspect violates this policy, using the designated reporting tools.
  • Ensuring any content they share is appropriate and does not violate this policy.
Section 06

Detection, Moderation, and Reporting

Sailors Connect uses a combination of methods to detect and address CSAE content and behavior:

  • Human Review: Trained moderators review flagged content and user reports.
  • User Reporting: We rely on our community to help keep the platform safe, via an in-app reporting feature on user profiles and posts, or by contacting our safety team directly.

Reports concerning potential CSAE are treated with the highest priority. Report suspected violations in-app or email ahoy@sailorsconnect.org.
